Threads

You thought your life was hell? Lexa just found out she’s nothing more than a character from a book written by someone named Bryan Caron. Now she must spend her precious time finding a way to protect the pathetic schmuck from a monster created by a character she created who somehow found a way to jump from the pages of their novels. If you found that confusing, you are going to hate this book.

What are readers saying?

I attended a book reading involving several of the local members of our Chamber of Commerce because they appeared in the book. Bryan had those members in attendance read their parts as he took us through the chapter. Needless to say, I had my copy signed and could not wait to get started on it, especially with the promise of an especially gory death for one of our key city officials.

Bryan did not let me down.

The book was engaging and fun. I will not go into details so as to avoid spoilers (my children tell me I am awful regarding those). The reasons I only gave four instead of five stars was because of the 20 pages of filler used as a kind of trope (humorous at first, but more content would have been better and made my day) and the lack of additional, amusing city official deaths.

Regardless, Threads was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more of Bryan's work, including the rest of his Jaxxa Rakala trilogy in the near future.

I started off reading the first paragraph and shut the book - words I don't say. But don't let that stop you from going on as I picked it up again. I would set and say I have time for one chapter and end up reading 3 or 4 because I could not put the book down. This book will draw you in with so many twists and lots of humor. It was written so well I could see the characters as I read on. I cannot tell you the story as it would give the whole book away. Just get the book and read for yourself.

Bryan is a masterful writer, weaving a complex and entertaining tale that delights and amazes. This multi-verse is created by Bryan, but his characters have taken it over. A great read and a fun experience. Check out all of his books and become a character in Bryan’s universe.
